Back in the good old days when tradeshows was a season and corporate events were a happening thing, branded gifts had their heyday. Giveaways were distributed with the spray and pray method - it didn’t so much matter what it was so long as there was a branded item to hand out. When gifting items at such volume on a budget, you’ve got to be frugal and sadly, many of these giveaways weren’t meaningful enough to be saved.
Then the pandemic hit, and these events came to a full stop. Just as the rest of the world changed, so did the swag world and it will never be quite the same. With the additional red tape now required to attend events, those who show have higher potential. Whether these core-target contacts are your employees or clients/prospects, your giveaways need to impress to make their impact! Gifting the cheap trinkets of the past threatens devaluing your brand and will likely get thrown away.
